DESCRIPTION

The Metrolinx/ GO Transit project was part of the Union-Pearson Expansion project and required the construction and reconstruct 5 different track systems all while maintaining both live GO Train traffic and CN Industry deliveries.

The project required that micro-tunneling be undertaken under both Highway No. 401 and Highway No. 409 in order to accommodate the very elaborate drainage systems; which included 14 meter deep manholes. In addition to the track expansion; which included all electrical work and an extremely elaborate track signalization work, the project also included multiple retaining walls that were erected, open cut installation of concrete drainage sewers, sheet pile walls and complete restoration including landscaping. This project demonstrates our ability to undertake rail construction without interrupting the GO Transit or CN schedules ensuring that their business continues on without delay.
