DESCRIPTION
This project was for the construction of the Bolton Arterial Road (a.k.a. BAR) from King Street and Harvest Moon Drive to Regional Road 50 in the Town of Caledon.
The contract included all traditional work such as excavation and paving but this project was unique in that it required 200 meters of existing channel relocation, cooling trenches and wetland construction and the construction of a multi span bridge over a watercourse. As a result of all the work to be done in an around water, cofferdams were constructed using sheet piling, environmental concerns were of the highest importance and safety measures were put in place not only for the workers but also for the entire community to ensure the flow of traffic through this area would not be interrupted by the extensive amount of construction.
